(1) After the weather was so great all summer, at least in the D.C. metro
area, the fall has been equally beautiful.
(2) I am still basking in great memories of our Annual Meeting last month
in the historical district of Charleston, SC. Very important bonding and
venues, many of which are not open to the public. Thanks, Harry, for all
(3) As many of you know, our long-time member, Antonio Burr, Ph.D., of
NYC, is now a member of the Board of Trustees of the Morris-Jumel Mansion,
on the upper West Side of Manhattan. Harry's good friend, James Kerr,
Esq., is Chair. Camilla Huey, fine artist and corsetiere, and her husband,
Kurt, have a book store near the Mansion. As I told the attendees at our
Charleston Luncheon-Meeting last month, the Mansion is celebrating its
250th Anniversary next year. Antonio has informed me of the following
scheduled events of importance to ABA, which many of us will want to
- Feb. 5, 2015: the Mansion has acquired a block of tickets for Lin
Miranda's "Hamilton" show at the Public Theatre in NYC. There will be a
private cocktail party at the Mansion for Lin and the Cast. Tickets may be
purchased through the Mansion.
- Aaron's birthday is Feb. 6th.
- On Sat., Feb. 7th, 2015, the Mansion is planning to coordinate the
unveiling of two important ABA works of art:
(a) the restored portrait of Aaron which project many of you
(b) the bust of Aaron Burr by Leith Adams, Newport, RI, funded by
Commodore Harry Anderson, which will be placed inside the Mansion.
Weather permitting, we look forward to having as many of us attend that
weekend of events. Each person will be making their own hotel
reservations. Antonio knows of some B & B locations.
Also, Antonio has "challenged" the Hamiltonians, our friends, to a full
debate about the ramifications of the 1804 infamous duel, on July 11 and
12, 2015, at the Mansion, an event which will coincide with a
commemoration of Geo. Washington's cabinet meeting at the Morris-Jumel
Mansion. This past July, Peter Tavino joined Antonio at the similar event
at the Mansion, that featured a speech by Rand ______, the president of
the Hamilton Awareness Society, and a speech by Antonio.
The Mansion has become a very important asset of ABA, with direct
relevance to Aaron's life. We want to show our bond with the Mansion.
